Adverb Definition:  An adverb is a part of speech that modifies verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs. Examples below. What is an Adverb? Definition of Adverb:  Most often, adverbs modify verbs. When adverbs modify verbs, they describe the verb, much like an adjective modifies or describes a noun. Here are a few adverb examples. David  quickly  walked . “Quickly” is an adverb modifying the verb, “walked.” This adverb tells  how  David walked. Amanda sings  loudly . “Loudly” is an adverb modifying the verb, “sings.” This adverb tells  how  Amanda sings.
